Geoff Lawton Presents: Reading the Landscape into Food Forest (August 29, 2014, Carpinteria, CA, USA)
Casitas Valley Farm and Quail Springs Permaculture is honored and excited to offer this evening talk offered by Geoff Lawton, International Permaculture educator and designer and the founder of the Permaculture Research Institute, near to Santa Barbara and Ojai.
We will hear from Geoff about his experiences with establishing and tending to food forest systems often referred to as forest gardens. These diverse, stable, resilient food systems, that mimic the structure of a natural forest, are self-sustaining, land healing, water purifying, carbon-sequestering and are possibly one of the most nutritionally productive systems for the future of food for humanity, especially as we enter into the age of climate instability. Geoff is a leader in the field of food forestry establishment and has an acclaimed video that has made its way around the world titled, "Establishing a Food Forest."
Join us for a tour of Casitas Valley Farm, a demonstration site for financial permaculture and family farming, a potluck and for this very special presentation by Geoff Lawton. A limited number of tickets will be sold and campsites are available for an additional fee.

hoping to take the desert course in Jordan sometime in 2015. Looking forward to seeing the farm and meeting Geoff.
It is Labor Day weekend (the worst traffic) and our anniversary, not going to make it. Damn. A topic I cannot hear enough about…
