New Permaculture Cafe and Skills exchange opportunity

Hi Everyone Nadia Lawton here

I’m very pleased to announce that we have opened a Permaculture cafe at The Greening The Desert Project site.  We hope that
the cafe will have many positive functions, bring in funds to further the project but also to be a centre point in the village where visitors and locals can gather and get introduced to the Permaculture concept.  We will also sell home made products and organic, nutrient rich, food from the site.  We aim to set up a small Permaculture library and host videos screening and events.

Skills exchange opportunity for a volunteer with Barista cafe experience.

I would like offer an interesting Permaculture skills exchange opportunity for a volunteer with barista cafe experience. We are looking for a talented individual who would like to be a part of The Greening The Desert Project for 1 to 3 months, by offering your skills and experience of working in a cafe to train our local staff  on how to create beautiful coffees, texture the milk,  use a coffee grinder and barista machine.

As this is our first time of running a cafe we would very much appreciate any help with the operational side as well, such as tips on industry best practices etc.

What I’m mostly excited about is to work together to develop a creative range of desserts and sweets to offer our customers.  They will be made from the produce that we are growing on the site.
I think this can be a great experience and a lot of fun.  Geoff Lawton and I, will be here on the site until mid November, so if you are interested in this position and would like to meet us while we are here please send in your application as soon as possible.

  1. I see all the females in your pictures are wearing a head scarf. It might be useful to know the local custom regarding this for those that want to apply.
