“Perma-Tech” Renewable Energy Course

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvKNgV8LShQ

This “Perma-Tech” Renewable Energy Course is no ordinary offering by any means!

On completion, you will gain a multi-faceted view of how to design and construct an advanced next generation solar power system and be able to relate to others on how to do the same; In other words, it is a ” Solar Trainers Training Course”!

Make no mistake; this is a renewable energy “boot camp” and is not for the faint hearted. The weekend will start with the nuts and bolts of Solar Physics and electronics, active and passive solar building design and minimising the electrical load and it will be finished off with the hands on building a mini system that will be a working replica of a full-size system. This mini system can be purchased at a low nominal price at the end of the course.

When you clear your desk and zip up your pencil case you are going to understand not only the watt-hour and kilowatt hour (ENERGY), you will also know the reason the MOSFET transistor changed the industry forever. You will know all the technical jargon you need to get inside the workings of these incredible next generation solar energy systems, which can be installed in urban and farming areas, holiday homes and caravans and even in your motor vehicle and most importantly, the succinct fact that renewable energy systems are only good for the environment if they repay their embodied energy. Just because you install a solar system doesn’t necessarily guarantee that you have done the right thing for future generations; far from it!

All students will receive a complimentary copy of the Solar Technology Designers Catalogue valued at $150 in digital format.

AN INTRODUCTION TO YOUR INSTRUCTORS

Solar-Mike

Mike Haydon has been in the training industry for 17 years, working with some of Australia’s largest utility companies and has implemented and designed energy efficient programs for large major corporations to reduce their environmental impact. Mike’s home runs on renewable energy with lifetime Nickel Iron battery storage and absolute state of the art C.I.G.S thin film P.V solar panels in the middle of Sydney on 24 Hour Solar Power.

Xris-Solar

Christopher Darker (Xris) is one of the origins of solar species, from Esperance in Western Australia, with 40 years experience. He has designed and constructed some of the most advanced and revolutionary renewable energy systems in the country. Xris understands enduring quality and knows which products in the marketplace offer superlative performance, deliver maximum environmental leverage and will last you a lifetime. His research is critically acclaimed, as is his long-standing publication, The Solar Technology Designers Catalogue.

The Permaculture Research Insitute

PRI Zaytuna Farm functions as a model farm (in development) and permaculture training facility. Geoff and Nadia Lawton, world-renowned permaculture educators and consultants, lead the project. Much of Geoff and Nadia’s time over the last few years has been spent away from the Institute, consulting and helping set up projects in diverse locales around the world. Seeing the worldwide demand for knowledgeable permaculture consultants and teachers increase exponentially, as fuel and fertiliser prices skyrocket and the effects of climate change, soil depletion and water shortages begin to hit hard, priority and focus is now shifting back to the Institute, where growing the training program will increase the output of quality teachers to help fill the growing need for them.
