I new the inequality was way out of whack, but I was basing my knowledge on last years statistics. I think it was the top earners were earning about 280%. This is not Capitalism! I’m not sure what it is but it reminds me of the kings of old who had all of the wealth and all of the power. Hmmmmmm. Come to think of it, our wealthiest folks do have ALL of the power because they own almost all of the politicians. And I mean throughout the whole country, not just the Feds. Perhaps that’s a slight exageration but not by much. When the next depression comes in about 5 years, what’s going to happen?
If you are interested in income inequality I recommend you to read “the spirit level” from R Wilkinson & K Pickett”.
It describe why countries with high level of inequality have the highest level of health and social problems compare with Scandinavian and japan where income inequality is far less.
